last night, I had a very memorable dream, so I’d like to share it with you.
There were diamonds of all different sizes scattered around my body.
When I looked more closely, I realized that there were diamonds around everyone.
People around me started saying,
“Her diamond is bigger and more beautiful!”
and began going over to collect the diamonds around other people.
Then, for some reason, the Governor of Shizuoka appeared and said,
“Stop looking for diamonds outside yourself.
The diamond within you is the most beautiful of all.”
(The diamonds scattered around us were the light and beauty overflowing from within each person.)
Nearby, dolphins and orcas were swimming in the sea.
When I woke up, I thought,
“I’d love to create paintings that gently accompany people,
helping the diamond within each person to shine.”
The image is a painting I’m currently working on,
of crystals inside a cave.
And somehow, it made me think about Shikaku Maru gallery, too.
I wanted it to feel like being inside a quiet, peaceful cave—
a place where you can feel at ease,
even if going out or meeting people feels a little difficult.
That is the kind of space I want Shikaku Maru gallery to be.
Today, I’ll continue working on this unfinished painting.
I won’t be at the gallery today,
but I’ll let you know when I’m there next.
